How to Get Rid of Dry Scalp

Massage your Scalp

Dry scalp has affected many of us at one point or another, but there are ways to bring your scalp back to life. When you massage your scalp it stimulates natural oils and increases blood flow towards the hair follicles. Using warm oils during massage can also resolve itchiness and soothe your scalp.

Conditioning Treatments

Another remedy to dry scalp is choosing a conditioning mask according to your hair type, comprised of natural ingredients. A good scalp treatment should also be left in for at least 20 minutes to penetrate the scalp and lock in moisture. Once left in make sure to thoroughly rinse with cool water to help close the hair shaft and seal in maximum moisture.

Use Tea Tree oil

Tea tree oil is a great natural alternative to chemicals for your scalp. Austrialian body care mentions that, it is better to dilute the oil with a second or multiple carrier oils such as castor oil, coconut oil. You can also leave this treatment in your scalp overnight.

Diet

Along with these treatment guidelines, you can heal your dry scalp with the help of supplements such as Zinc and Omega-3 fatty acids. Australian body care mentions that research suggests hair cannot grow without zinc as it is important for tissue growth and repair. Also Omega-3 fatty acids are fundamental to scalp health, deficiency in these fatty acids can lead to dry scalp.
